A Creative Way to Celebrate Pride in London: Queer Embroidery Workshop in Forest Hill

Looking for a relaxed, creative way to celebrate Pride in London this year? If you're queer, crafty (or craft-curious), and based in south east London, come join us for an evening workshop of embroidery & connection.

A flat lay photograph of hand embroidered patches for a Queer Embroidery Workshop in London. The patches include cherries, a martini glass, ‘Padam Padam’, ‘Protect the Dolls’, and a bow. All in Pride rainbow colours.

I’m hosting a Pride-themed embroidery workshop on Saturday 21st June, 6:30–9:00pm in Forest Hill, London. It’s beginner-friendly, BYOB, and open to all LGBTQIA+ folks and allies. Whether you’ve never picked up a needle before or you’ve been stitching for years, you’re welcome.

We’ll start with a few simple stitches (I’ll teach you everything you need to know), then you’ll choose from a selection of Pride-inspired designs to stitch - think rainbows, pronouns, slogans, and more. You can embroider a patch, or customise a piece of clothing you’ve brought with you.

This isn’t just a craft session, it’s a space to slow down, connect, and make something meaningful with your hands. So much of Pride in London is big, fast, and loud. This is something a little more grounded.

About the venue

The workshop is taking place at Better Things, a brilliant independent retail space in Forest Hill, South East London. Since opening in 2022, Better Things has become known for supporting local creatives and hosting an ever-changing curation of beautiful independent brands.

It’s also one of the shops currently stocking my work as part of their spring/summer curation, so it feels extra special to be hosting this workshop there. The shop has a cosy, welcoming vibe with a strong community feel, perfect for an evening like this.
